A dream We Were Onced Dream Of

When we were younger, we were asked what we wanted to be in the future or when we grew up. We listed our dream, a doctor, a pilot, a scientist. They encouraged us to achieve our dream

But what they didn’t tell us was what to do when things didn’t go as planned. They never prepared us for failure, for heartbreak, for the weight of dreams that slipped through our fingers. No one warned us about the moments of doubt, the roads that led to dead ends, or the quiet ache of realizing that life doesn’t always follow the script we imagined.

Nothing necessarily "went wrong," but rather, we were given an incomplete picture of life. As children, we were encouraged to dream big, but the realities of setbacks, failure, and uncertainty were often left out of the conversation. Society tends to focus on success stories, reinforcing the idea that hard work and perseverance always lead to achievement. However, the truth is that failure, redirection, and even giving up on certain dreams are natural parts of growth.

What we weren't taught enough is that failure isn't the end—it’s part of the process. That life isn’t a straight path, but a winding journey with unexpected detours. That it’s okay to grieve lost dreams, to redefine success, and to discover new dreams along the way.

Maybe nothing went "wrong." Maybe we just need to change how we see the journey

Maybe this is just life unfolding in a way we didn’t expect. And maybe, just maybe, the roads we never planned to take will lead us exactly where we’re meant to be.

Life will guide you home, and ignite your bones, and I will try to fix you ♥️
